The alien Time Lord known as The Doctor has always taken a deep interest in Earth, defending it against creatures that would seek to destroy or subjugate Humanity. One of those enemies was a renegade Time Lady known as the Rani, an amoral scientist who plays with genetic material the way some kids play with blocks.

The Doctor's managed to defeat the Rani, but you always have to wonder about the people who get caught in the crossfire.

Like Lance-Corporal Kincaid here.

He was human, six feet four inches tall and ginger-haired when he and a UNIT detachment helped The Doctor foil the Rani's latest plot in the East Finchley Tube station. Kincaid stood his ground as his men and many of the passengers on the train managed to get clear. Sadly, though, he caught the fringe of the Rani's attack.

Making him a six foot four inch rat.

The Doctor's still trying to figure out how to reverse the process, but in the meanwhile Ewan's been promoted to Sergeant and tolerates the occasional use of the nickname "King Rat" by the squaddies.

And yes, that is in fact the IRL Clan Kincaid tartan.
