And at last here is the second and last part of my two "poems" for flute and orchestra. This features many dance-like tunes I have written and is a more lively counterpart to the Song of Longing (poem n.1).
00 A slow ad lib introduction begins the piece, with hints of an english folk song, "Benjamin Bowmaneer".
39 The first dance in 6/8
15 The second more medieval sounding dance in 4/4
09 Cadenza featuring the folk song melody from the beginning with hints of the 1st and 2nd dances overlapping every so often in the background
13 The third, slower dance
33 The fourth dance (alternating with the 3rd) in 6/4 (both the 3rd and 4rth dances are adapted from an older piece of mine, which incidentally was the first piece I uploaded here on FA)
58 The 1st dance makes a comeback
09 The finale with alternating hints of dances 1 and 4, until n.4 quickly closes the piece.
