A sharp F-111 let's Morena in on a little secret on her love interest.
U2 Dragon Ladies are best known for their black paint job, but they've sported other color schemes as well.
When I bought a used book on F-14A Tomcats, it came with two others, the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II and the General Dynamics (GD) F-111 "Aardvark".
I was immediately drawn to this beautiful but unknown-to-me jet. Its checkered development, its against-the-grain construction, its public perception, its role in the military; with such a juicy background, how could I not make a character out of it?
While the "Aardvark" nickname isn't the coolest, the nickname it earned from the enemy in Vietnam sure is: Whispering Death. My logic is that if an F-111 can infiltrate deep in enemy territory and deliver its ordnance, then an F-111 shouldn't have a problem sneaking up on you while you're using your smartphone. :P
This piece made me realize that I should pay closer attention to the speech "bubbles". It was embarrassing how many words I had to realign. I even started experimenting with Photoshop's Text tool. I didn't use it here because I want to find the right font... and figure out how to apply it. In the meantime, I better step up my drawing game so the text doesn't look like the best part of the drawing. I'll just be more careful when writing as well.
