[Comic] Cosmic Inflation, Pt 1 'In the Beginning'
We know so little about how the universe began. But among the few things that the majority of science has come to agree upon, is cosmic inflation. Essentially after the big bang, the universe grew at a rate faster than the speed of light to approximately a 3rd of it's current size. We know so little about this event that we can assume it could happen anywhere at any time, maybe even within this unassuming pokemon's belly. Here's hoping the physics of that new reality forming within them allow their body to contain it.

With my typical (but this time luckily not as long) delay, I wanna say that I still appreciate and enjoy the art commission from you lots, Fluffle. You had a really cool idea and I am glad that I was able to let Shiny in on the out of this world concept. You were very generous with me and I feel I can't state enough that it has been a lot of fun to converse with you over WIPs and to see the series come to the cool results that you've produced here. It's rather dreamy in my opinion. =D
Fun fact: Shiny likes star gazing lots. He has been out on many nights and just enjoyed to look at the various formations in happy excitement and awe of the sparkly and pretty white dots as they and the moon have shared a gentle shine from above. His dude Brakk went so far as painting lots of stars onto his room's ceiling for him to look at when they would glow in the dark for him as well.
That said, I am sure the lil fella would be quite amazed to see his sparkling tummy if he'd be able to find a mirror that fast enough. XD
Well, whatever might have caused theis? Some special experiment by one of the scientist or mages that Shiny sometimes helps out as a test subject could be the answer. Or one of those celestial Dragons that usually checks on that things stay in order might have felt like playing a bit around and granting a lucky Totodude a very special day there.
Since many things are possible everybody is free to go with their own explanation, but sure is that it must be quite the overwhelming experience for Shiny again. Not simply from the fact that his body is expanding (that has happened quite some times to the toony fellow) but rather of how it does surge through him and seemingly not mind his actual shape.
You drew this series with much care and a lot of kind communication as a great extra. I appreciate it lots that you were open to sending me WIPs and also gave me some revisions after negotiations, Fluff. I think that Shiny, the backdrops and the nice cosmic effects showcasing various galaxy shapes and nebulae have turned out wonderful.
Here on the first page Shiny's expressions show well how the effects must probably have hit him, sending his senses a bit spinning as he's overcome with perhaps images of many stars shaping up and settling down in front of his inner eye. Might be that he's becoming like a vessel for the stars at the moment and therefore is met with feeling drowsy at the same time as the universal inflation is happening.
It's pretty neato definitely how it translates through your artistic efforts here and his tummy goes up like fresh bread dough. The place that Shiny is in might not withstand it if he outgrows it, unless he might just phase through as his being is on a different spiritual level here.
The interesting theories come automatically to me whenever I look atintruiging motifs that wake my imagination. Showing yet once more that you did great here. I will definitely keep enjoying to take your artwork in, Fluffle. ^_^
