You may be familiar with the legends of the Dingus Duck, Dingus Dragon, and Dingus Dinosaur. However, have you ever heard the story behind the lost Dingus, Seacil Seahorse?
For many years, seafarers had weaved tales of a mysterious seahorse that played pleasing melodies through its flute-like snout. Those who claimed to have seen it were often shipwreck survivors who had been adrift at sea for days before being discovered by the elusive creature. As a result, most tales of the seahorse varied from person-to-person with there being only three resounding consistencies amongst them all. They were that it was large, violet in color, and that it played a soothing melody that lulled them to sleep while, apparently, it brought them back to shore.
Over time, this savior of the sea earned the name of Seacil Seahorse. There were those who wanted to name it the Dingus Seahorse. But, with no proof of judgmental behavior and/or a known use of magical cards, most bards and scholars believed it would be unfair to include Seacil when (s)he may be a special creature by his or her own merits.
The story of the seahorse remained the same for a very long time until the day an upstart, pirate captain was found washed ashore. When questioned, he went on to tell of how he had “Seen the accursed Dingus…” and that “It sounded a war song through its snout of sterling silver.” He further went on to add that, “…its belly was aglow like the fires below...” before stating “Then, like the Dingus she is, she sealed me and me mates into cards that she hoarded within her very bosom!”
Not surprisingly, the authorities were skeptical of the story as they locked the pirate away, by his request, for the short list of crimes he had confessed to committing. However, over the coming days, men and women continued to wash ashore telling the same exact tale of how the seahorse was a Dingus and that, if not for promising to change their evil ways, they would’ve remained eternally trapped within its bosom.
This new information prompted bards and scholars alike to scour the shores of the Further Realms in search of proof of Seacil’s alignment with the other Dingus. Although their search yielded next to nothing, they did learn of many cases where known felons would go missing under mysterious circumstances while out to sea.
So, with little proof to prove to the contrary, Seacil remained known as simply Seacil Seahorse. Despite this fact, though, bards, seafarers, and parents of children by the sea still entertain the theory of Seacil’s alignment within the Dingus family. As they say, “Be of kind heart lest Seacil seal your fate while out to sea.”

I'm glad you like Seacil. With Creative Campaign 2 soon reaching a point where there will be sea travel, I couldn't help but wonder what sort of Dingus might patrol the seas. :)
On another note, I still can't get enough of that fun song you introduced me to. I was never a real fan of seahorses. However, between all the emotional events that have gone amidst them in my recent life, I can't help but be a life-long fan of the eternal, father figure. :)

Ehehe, that's true! At least, feelign like you have a cute critter like him around, rather than sharks or something scary, would be cool! :D
Oh, and is there only one of him? It's a weird question, but I just imagined a pack of seahorses, but I wasn't sure whether it's just once specific character on its own, or if there are or were many different Sea Horses. :3 I wonder that about the Dingus Trio too... but I have a feeling maybe there's only of of each of them, maybe! 8D

You know, that is a most excellent question. This is because, in large part, nobody has actually managed to capture one to show before a large group. Rather, those who do see them often only get a brief glimpse before they seemingly just disappear. However, considering the vastness of the Further Realms it wouldn't be too surprising if it was proven that multiple Dingi of each class were swimming, flying, and toddling about. :)
To date, Ham-Ham is perhaps one of the few who have actually gotten a good, solid look at a Dingus in action without being treated to one of its magical, card based actions. Though, as knowledge of it beyond her would negatively impact upon her story regarding King Avis' sudden disappearance, I feel she'll be taking her very special encounter with the Dingus Duck to the grave. :)
