While Goblins aren't the most promiscuous creatures by nature- those that are, Goblin Kings and Goblin Queens- breed like rabbits. Or at least try to :P
But, what happens when they have children outside of the goblin hive? With other humanoids? Especially the giant ones?
Well, the result is either a litter of Hobgoblins, or one big ol' bugbear!
Hobgoblins:
- A goblin queen having a litter with a tall humanoid, results in a smaller brood, but an entire gang of hobgoblins!
- Hobgoblins grow to just a bit shorter than normal humanoids.
- They live longer and have a stronger capacity for learning and tactics, making them ideal enforcers in a hive.
- They don't have super broodmother queens like Goblins do- but the average Hobgoblin still has 2 or 3 babies per pregnancy.
Bugbears:
- A goblin king having a child with a tall humanoid, results in a single bugbear.
- Bugbears grow as tall or slightly taller than the average humanoid.
- Strong and vicious, Bugbears tend to be loners unless they stay with their hive, which they can become leaders or brutal tanks.
- Bugbears are very similar to other humanoids in their mating habits, and actually have normal sex drives unlike other goblin types.
