I can explain it better as my English got somewhat better XD
Chloe was under attack when large enemy armored forces appeared on her company's flank.
Her tank's ammo rack was hit when the crews were reloading and it exploded through inside. That's why she has large burn scars on her left face and her back.
She is the only survivor from the hit as she jumped out immediately before secondary explosion blew up the tank.
