Maple is a "mimic" dragon from the planet Madfall. They don't usually have orange fur but he has a mutation that changes his fur/skin color. Not many mimics have had this mutation that changes their color, even fewer are orange.
They also can't be on all fours for long without hurting their backs, this is position is an average way for them to sit, because they have prehensile tails they can easily prop themselves up.
