Your typical museum backlot rusty steamer. Nothing really too special about old #285 here except for the fact that she is one of only three surviving L&N steam engines. The other two being 4-6-2 #152 which is operational at the same museum and another 0-8-0 switcher just like this one on static display somewhere in Georgia I think.

She could be and is fairly complete. The surface rust makes her look much worse in person than she actually is. Of course I have no idea how well the firebox and boiler itself have held up from being outside these last forty years.
Of course KRM takes the usual stance that they want to watch it rot in there yard rather than sell it to somebody that could at least clean it up. Same goes for the little 0-4-0 they have on the flatcar.
