As watchers may know, I'm worried about the overall weight of the main sculpture I'm doing for Trance of his sergal character, so I wanted to make a little proof-of-concept figure to see how I can use tail positions to add standing support. This is the result.
This is a quick (3 hour) doodle in Fimo polymer clay of his character in normal form. It's not intended to be very detailed, so things like the paws and tail are more conceptual than precise. The whole sculpture is only a little over 3" tall but I was pleased with how it turned out and decided to paint him.
As with Dawn's doodle sculptures, I'm a bit frustrated that the acrylic paint shows up all the brush strokes and looks a bit "rough", but that's what happens when doing such small figures I guess. I'll have a shop around for other paints as well, since there may be better ones out there than this range.

so log as you dont use oil based paints you should be ok ^_^
i read somewhere that it will dissolve the clay.
try model shops, but be careful to see if its oil based or water based.
I think the brush strokes add to the effect of fur, so its worked out really nice.
though, if you want to avoid brush strokes, see if you can get hold of an air brush, they work wonders and its quick.
overall i think trance looks lovely, its good to see what he looks like in 3D, and its cool how he can free stand like that. Will look forward tot he final sculpt ^_^
