Anxiety was running rampant. Here I was about to go out on a date with my friend's grandmother. The possible outcomes of this night terrified me. Up until now every time we met, her advances grew more and more intense and now that we were on an actual date what was she going to try? I pulled up to the restaurant valet and he took my keys. The walk into the restaurant felt like the green mile. As the maitre d' directed me my thoughts were interrupted by a soft yet loud gasp.
"You're here!"
I looked up to see her wearing a stunning wine-colored dress.
"Please take a seat!"
Her demeanor was completely different. She seems way more dare I say, "vulnerable" than our past encounters. I took a seat across form her. and she politely rested her hands in her lap. She spoke first.
"Listen...I'm sorry for my past behavior. Sometimes I get a little...overzealous."
I chuckled to ease the tension.
"When you get to be my age you don't get a lot of attention and when you meet someone you like...you tend to act like you think the person wants you to act. Regardless, I am very happy that you've given me this chance." She took her hand and started to twiddle her salad fork in her fingers.
This threw me for a loop. For the first time I took a good look at her. She really was a beautiful woman and before I realized it i felt my hand reach out and rest on top of hers. She blushed.
"Oh!~"
She grinned.
