Petra is a hybrid of plant and cougar. The green in her fur comes from chlorophyll, which helps to provide energy. However, if she relied solely on the sun, she would end up extremely lethargic, barely able to move. In addition to the green fur, another aspect of her plant side is that she is fruit bearing, regularly growing melons in a process very similar to pregnancy. She can be affected by many plant fertilizers as well.
