Well on the main DMFA page it was indicated that his great-something grandmother is a clan leader, so when she pops up in the Cubi Clan leaders thing Amber's doing all should be revealed.

Mink belongs to the Jin Clan. Mentions it in Abel's backstory part 2 Page 90-ish (I think 92-93)

I like that the gender was left ambiguous :P

The enigma that is Mink has to do more with the person behind the squiddly, big-eyed dweeby exterior. That would be what intruiges me most about him. That, and I don't think Mink has a gender...

Me again! I was re-reading Abel's Story and, looking at the background and other shots of the SAIA, it hit me. (Yeah, like one of Fa'Lina's cheap-shots.) You seem to have a Cubi version of just about every race in Furrae. So I'll go out on a limb here and say that Mink's a Mythos-type Cubi.

What ever he is he is adorible. Odd question though. Were are the suction cups if that is what they are. I see them on he head and tail but I have not seen like a nude back pic of him before so I don't know if they are on his back or bottem of the feet

I was going to ask what Mink was too.

Actually I always assumed he was a (VERY heavily anthromorphized (and kitty-ized... and landdwelling) squid(kitty?). (And surprisingly adorable for it.) But yeah, my guess was actually that he was a sort of squid-kitty.

There is cute, and then there is Mink. If Mink and Jyrras were ever to occupy the same room, the world would surely explode from cuteness overload. However, if anyone is "first boyfriend" material for Jyrras (Hey, Cubi can be any gender they want, right?), I think Mink would be perfect. Mink strikes me as a guy who'd follow the Campsite Rule.

I always assumed that he was a regular animaloid that just liked tentacles so he changed his appearance to be tentacle-y.

Well, in 3D, her hands would only look like a heart from some angles. And it still looks like a 'traditional' (Valentine candy) heart at an angle. It's pretty obvious what she's signing.

Mink is probably my favorite character.

Just read the last couple pages of DMFA, and Mink trying to figure out his gender was...oh god, the adorable almost killed me.

the second i opened this pic and looked at it i noticed that the fingers didnt go into a perfect heart. but i also immediately thought that made the picture better. *the character is awesome btw you did a great job drawing it*

but to comment on the hand heart. how easy is it to get the perspective right? i mean in real life, doing that with your hands is fairly easy but most of the time you cant show it as a heart perfectly to everyone. i think it looks more realistic being slightly off, and even fits the character a little bit, like shes being silly (or squiggly?)

maybe her heart is shaped that way? XD i wouldnt bet against that, maybe she just wanted to give you a funny shape because she liked it?

regardless i really like how this turned out and the heart she *i keep saying she out of habit* shes making is cute.
