Irse has had a long week. The Pharaoh was working him and his claw pack to the bone trying to fight off the hordes of Apophis's snake demons, yet he reserved the Egyptian troops for the rear guard. He obviously couldn't care less for foreigners fighting and dying for Egypt, even though the gods wanted the Egyptians and the Normenians to fight together to more quickly defeat the demons. As it stood now, it was a complete standstill.
Irse would have spat in his face if he could, but sadly he'd lose the favor of the Pharaoh and be expelled from Egypt. So for now he just beared it. Thankfully, the youngest daughter of Anubis, Kebechet, kept him sane. As long as she was with him, he could bear any insult or injury that comes his way. She was his light and his rock.
One night, he came back to Thebes after another long day of battle and went into the main palace of the gods, where they all resided together. He walked into the palace, looking for Keb, but much to his surprise, she's not anywhere to be seen. And so he approached her younger brother, Anu, as to where she is.
"Oh she went out for a late night walk! She'll be back in an hour." Irse nodded and thanked the young god, then went into Keb's room and sat on her bed, and waited.
Two hours later, he knew something wasn't right. It was almost midnight and she should have been back. At this point he began to worry that something happened to her, so he gathered up his things--his battle axe shaped like a khopesh, his shield, and all his Normenian battle armor--and took off into the city of Thebes.
This time of night, there was almost no one around. Those that were hid in their homes and hid themselves--likely scared of a foreigner like him. He just grunted and continued on his way, thinking about where Keb could be.
Thankfully he didn't have long to find out. He saw a suspicious looking figure dart into an alleyway when he was near the edge of the city limits, and he quickly went into the alley after it. The figure-a leopard man-turned a corner in the alley and Irse ran after him. When Irse turned the corner, he saw that the figure was trapped and he turned to face him. He turned to face Irse, the biggest gleam of hatred in his eyes as he said,
"You filthy foreigner!" Irse chuckled and drew his khopesh shaped battle axe, and he slowly came closer to the leopard.
"Funny, I seem to have more loyalty to Egypt than you it seems." He growled more and tried pressing against the back wall.
"What are you talking about?" Irse just chuckled more and approached the leopard further.
"Don't be stupid. I can smell it." He knew that Keb always washed herself with a unique fragrance known as stakte, and Irse could smell that fragrance on this leopard. Not having any patience for a potential kidnapper, he rushed the leopard and held his axe right to his throat. The leopard's hatred and indignation was replaced with fear and cowardice. "I'm only going to ask you this once." The leopard only nodded quick in fear, and Irse continued,
"Where? Is? She?!! Where Is My Wife?!!"
The leopard squealed like a pig. He was one of a group that had kidnapped Keb when she was on her night walk. Keb, being a goddess, would normally be able to fend them off. But they had been given a blessing by their lord, Apophis, and they had been able to abduct her. He told him that they were keeping Keb in an outpost near Thebes, to be offered as a sacrifice to Apophis.
Not if he could help it.
He spied the hideout from a distance and he wasted no time heading over there. His armor clanked as when he got to the front door, he kicked the door down without hesitation and looked around. There were a couple of other people in the room-a lizard and a mouse-and without thinking he swung his axe and in one swing he killed them both, their blood flying onto the walls.
"KEB!!!" He stayed quiet and his ears listened for anything, and he heard some banging and what sounded like muffled yells...right beneath him!! He stepped off of the section of floor he was on, and noticed the wood paneling under his feet felt...different. He listened more and he heard more banging and muffled yells. He knelt down and, with his clawed hands, ripped up the flooring and what he saw shocked him.
There, under the floorboards, was Keb. She had been bound with rope; her hands behind her back and her arms to her torso both above and below her breasts. Her legs were tied such that her thighs and calves had been tied together, and she was gagged with a red ball strapped into her mouth. She looked up at him and she smiled beneath the gag,
"Mrsmm~" Irse immediately reached down and scooped Keb into his arms. Not sure that more enemies were lurking, he just ran as fast as he could away from there, carrying Keb in his arms.
He got some looks for sure, but he just ignored them and got back to the palace. No one was around, or they were in another part. So Irse just took her straight to her room, sat on her bed and set her on his lap.
"Are you alright?" Keb nodded, and then she immediately snuggled up to him. Irse smiled, and before he did anything else he stripped out of his armor until he was just in a shendyt. He smiled more at Keb and brought her close, and she smiled as he caressed her cheek.
"Oh Keb I love you so much...let's end this night on a high note." Keb nodded, and the next thing she knew, Irse wrapped his arms around her in his strong arms and kissed his neck.
