(My actual medieval Era family crest is three red roosters on a yellow plain. My ancient ancestors got the crest because they loaded several posed off roosters into a catapult and launched them into as castle guard house to break the seige.

It worked, rooster claws are small enough to get into the helmet and they claw eyes out leaving an infected bloody mess. Aso, roosters are vicious and will actually remember faces of the humans or animal fur patterns that hurt them b or their group. They then will go after the attacker with little thought for self preservation. Kinda like my family line, hence the three blood red rooster crest.)
