Inktober Day 4: Breath
Inktober day four. The prompt this time was frozen. I'm really enjoying how inktober is giving me lots of opportunities to use some of my more obscure and/or neglected characters. I have already drawn Rioteth and Isaiah and now today it is Lydia's turn with background cameos from Darcy and Batter.
I see this image as having a number of potential interpretations, but there are a couple in particular I had in mind. Both of them deal with spirituality. On the negative side, my initial take was use of spirituality as a way of ignoring one's problems, thus staying firmly frozen in place. Then, as I was working, I saw a positive interpretation that I think I like better. The central character lives a life of chaos and poverty where a lot goes on that she really has no power over. Meditation practice gives her an opportunity to freeze the clock and breathe, even if only for a few moments.
