They work so perfectly for this idea. So incredibly cute.

The old school cartoon baby outfit of a bonnet and pinned cloth diaper has always been a favorite of mine. Works particularly well with the booties/mittens, bib and pacifier too, of course!

I always thought that kind of outfit helped drive home the theme of 'oversized baby.'

Definitely. I've always liked that idea in cartoons because of its balance of cuteness and comedic appeal. It's why I like to use it so much in comic ideas.
