Chapter 56: Lost and Victories
Nicholas and Huraz-Alaz were soon reporting to the High Council about the fight against Dooku and how the battle had gone. They had done well to hold out. While no extra fuel had been able to obtained, the two Knights considered surviving in their fight against Dooku to be the true prize. Now they could take a break while the next set of battles in the war began. And the next one was a terrible lost at the Battle of Jabiim. But then came the Battle of Metalorn where Wat Tambor was captured. Then came the Battle of Kabal which was a Republic Victory. Up next was the Battle of Cerea. While a victory for the Republic, Ki-Adi-Mundi lost his family during it. Due to the low birth rate of his kind, the Jedi Master was allowed to get married and have kids. Huraz-Alaz felt sadness for the Jedi Master despite having never met his family. For she had been raised in a world where family was a value. As such, the young Nelvaanian found the time to talk to Ki-Adi-Mundi about them which seemed to help his pain. Then came the Battle of Xagobah. This was where Nicholas and Huraz-Alaz fought again and with the squadron of Jedi interceptors led by Anakin. “Feels great to be back in these again,” the male human told the female Nelvaanian through his communicator as they began flying towards the target.
“I couldn’t agree,” she replied. However, even with this, it still took several months after this attack before a Republic victory happened. But there was more for her and Nicholas. For once again they felt a calling to take an apprentice of their own. It was stronger than ever before. But the two still felt that now wasn’t the time just quiet yet. They did however begin to look into possible choices but these Knights only talked about it amongst themselves. It was better that way and not get worked up over something when it didn’t end up happening. The battles though were going to get tougher from here on out. And soon very familiar ones would be coming.
