I am older than most here on this site. I have had more than my share of being in the company of death and watch as those I love fade from consiousness. So many do not know how fragile life is and do not realize it until those we care for are gone. One has to make every day count and never, ever be afraid to say "I love you"... and say it often... to those you love.

When friends are gone, yes, it hurts, it hurts like hell. No kind or soothing words will help. All we can do is wish them well on their journey. Honor their life. Treasure their memories and remember how much fuller a life we have lived because of their presence in our life.

I do understand what you mean. The other side of that coin is just as true... when the one you love returns into your life, it makes that love even more joyous!

Just too bad that none of my loves has ever returned back. But it's also less than 5. But still...

I do understand, I have seen many friends, close friends, family, grandparents and my parents all pass from this world.

damn. well, familywise for me, is it only 2 of my grandparesnts. one passed when I were 3, the other...3-4 years ago I think.
