08-05-19 [Baby AMP! So Precious!]
Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I had a dream that I was in my elementary schools halls and there was a Nazi propaganda movie premiere called something like "Poplidopodilpop". I remember this very short nazi was too small to enter, and he tried coming back while standing on a guys head in a trenchcoat, and another time wearing a giant tuba and insisting it was an iPhone. I went inside the theater and found the film to be a boring piece about their war logistics, and one that wasnt even entirely accurate.
I woke up at 6:50 and headed to the living room, where I was able to sleep until about 8:30. We got grandpa up for the day and gave him a bed bath. As usual his wound was absolutely abhorrent and putrid. I honestly don't think I'll be able to ever smell the shampoo we use (ginger and silk scented) without associating it with the smell of rotten flesh.
We changed his bed then around 10:15ish I headed out and about. I called mum and she said that she was gonna powerwash the baby boat and she and dad were gonna go on a walk for exercise. I went to McD's and got a Big Mac meal with fries and a conke, and also a double cheeseburger on the side. After eating I headed to Naples for geocaching! While driving I listened to NPR as I often do, and as they often do they managed to make me realize why no one trusts the main stream news outlets these days.
My first stop was the last geocache I found the other day. This time I was armed with pliers, and after navigating across puddles filled with smol crabs (It had rained off and on all morning), I unscrewed the cap and saw the log! However it was too wet to sign and I had no paper replacements, so I just headed back to my car and drove to the next cache.
This was where my geocaching slump began. I tried the first one (Dave's Seagrape), and when I got to ground zero, as soon as I pulled up to the area, a guy pulled up next to me and just sat there...In his truck...The whole time...Just sitting there...Lingering...Watching...Eventually I overcame my anxiety at this and scoured the region, but I couldn't find the cache. I did get to walk on a very cool hidden wooden boardwalk that spanned an area between two roads and was surrounded by thick plants...But no cache.
Then I drove south to another cache (Naples Beach) and when I got there I saw this mum and her two kids just standing there...Beside the foot-wash station...Not going to their car or the beach...The whole time...Just standing around...Lingering...Watching...I waited for ten minutes then eventually tried to find the cache, but again, nothing!
Okay, no big deal...The real treasure would be the next cache (33 and Counting), since it would let me complete the alphanumeric challenge (Finding a cache that starts with every letter a-z and every number 0-9). I was worried there'd be more loiterers in the area, but when I got there it was fairly empty! And the cache was a 1.5 difficulty! And I saw a guard rail! Surely this would be easy! Surely I could find this one!
...Nope!
I searched for about 20 minutes in spots that should have been easy and obvious, but there was just nothing...Anywhere. I did see lightning in the distance and some rain over the ocean, but while searching the clouds parted and the friggin' Sun reemerged; baking the land in that good ol' inhospitable Floridian heat.
With my head hung low I had to call it. I headed north to another cache (Another pretty beach cache) and thought that it would be another failure. Happily enough I made the find and grabbed a blue rubber ducky for my troubles. With renewed confidence I headed north to Lowdermilk Park for a cache (A Rock In A Tree Place), but even though it had an easy rating, I couldn't find the cache in the copse of bamboo growth. I did see a palm with a very thicc base tho. O:
After that point I pretty much just gave up. It was getting late in the day and I wanted to get home to type. While driving to Taco Bell I listened to a program where they tried to guess the number of fossils left in Earth, and there were many interesting stipulations! Microfossils? Probably not...But how big? It was an interesting discussion.
I got to Taco Bell and ordered a steak quesadilla meal with a soft taco and a Baja Blast...Also a 4 pack of cinnabons. I pulled up and paid (My card was back at home, so had to use cash all day) and I got my drink, but then it took a minute or so to get my food. Another guy asked if I got my food and I said I hadn't. He said he saw a bag in my car and I said that was McD's. He accused me of cheating, and I tearfully admitted I had. When I did get my food he said “Here ya' go, cheater”, and I had to laugh like mad at that. I ate in the parking lot and then headed back to Marco. I stopped at Pubix for groceries, and while finishing up shopping the fire alarm started going off. I looked around and no one seemed worried, nor did I see any smoke or flames...So I just kept at it. When I got to the register (Register 6 opened right as I started waiting, so fast!) I asked the cashier if that should worry me. She said the alarms had gone off 3 times that day. I wished her luck! D:
I headed home and put the groceries away, then went to my room and spent time typing. I got about 1100 words typed and completed part 1, then around 6:15 we headed to the living room. At 6:30 we got grandpa ready for the night, then for dinner I had a chicken pot pie. After eating and cleaning I nebulized grandpa at # doing so my jeep-frand called, so when I went back to my room I called him back but nop! I goobed off online for a bit, then he called back around 8:30ish. We chatted for about 30 minutes, then my BFF called so I switched calls. I told him about the movies I'd seen and how excited I am to come back! Eeeeee!
After, I played craftmines for a couple hours (Yesterday was the server's 9th birthday), then logged off and typed a bit while watching tubes. I had planned to get to sleep early, but ugh, you know how that goes. Instead, I started watching 'Stand by Me' at around 1ish, abd because of the slow load times, it didn't end until around 3. It was the first time I saw it, and I really really liked it, but holy shit, does Stephen King only have 5 characters he keeps reusing? A greaser-style 1-D bully? A thickheaded religious bumpkin? An author? Jesus! X)
I had trouble sleeping still, so I wound up reading some particle physics stuff to help me sleep, then fell asleep around 4ish.
I hope everyone has a Stand By Me day! <333
