"Next to the Fall Harvest Celebration, their most celebrated holiday is called BrumaVae or "winter of woes". It is centered around their own figure known as Eektae, a wickerbeast that journeys from the spirit world during this day. Wickerbeasts very rarely celebrate BrumaVae as the lore, goes if you wish for a present you must summon Eektae with a sacrifice of some sort be it a coin, food, and etc. Eektae will then appear, and in order to get your wish you must best them in a challenger of wits. If you lose you forfeit your life and your head
bestowed as a gift to your neighbor. If you win you get your wish, but there is no guarantee it will be exactly what you want. For children who choose to do BrumaVae it is said that Eektae will carry their soul to the spirit world with him to wander alone all eternity if they lose. Since most clans are superstitious they tend not to do BrumaVae as it's heard to be nearly impossible to best Eektae, and instead just offer a piece of their meal for solstice out of general respect for the spirit."

A piece i've worked on for several days, as I have very little time to draw due to a very busy schedule. This was my relaxation piece.
The scene is inspired by a bit of Wickerbeast lore you can read about on the Wickerbeast website!
