Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up at 3:30 when my alarm went off, then again a few minutes later...I eventually coaxed myself fully awake. I headed outside in the pitch black and loaded the plants into my car, then had Tom lead me to the nearby Racetrack gas station. I topped off my tank and got a Cuban sammich, a bag of Dorites, a KitKat, and a bottle of Pebis. When all was said and done, we were on the road by 4:15 AM.
There wasn't much excitement in the first leg of the journey. I listened to some Science in Genesis program for a little during the outset, and as time wound on and the Sun began to rise, I was able to get a good last look at the prairie grasslands in the state. A secret beauty!
When we entered the area level with the panhandle the day was in full swing but the sky was completely covered with clouds. Just as we were about to enter Georgia, Tom got pulled over...I thought it was for speeding, so I kept driving to exit 451 for gas. He got there and told me that cargo style vehicles need to go through agricultural inspection, but luckily the planps he was transporting (A few water lilies) were hidden, so the cop missed those and he only got a warning.
We grabbed gas and then headed onward. We stopped at a couple of rest stops, then grabbed more gas outside of Atlanta. While there I grabbed a bottle of Conke, a chicken salad sammich, another bag of Dorites, and a Mr. Goodbar. Which I ate on the way to Atlanta. Atlanta wasn't sooooo bad, but it was busy. The mountains also weren't bad.
Tennessee was pretty bad. There were arsehole drivers who tried merging into lanes I was merging into (You're behind me! You see my blinker! Think, you rot-brain!). Nashville was also about the busiest it got.
Then about 30 miles south of the Kentucky border the perpetual clouds came to a head and it began to rain...And I mean white-out. We slowed to a speed of about 40 MPH, and wound up getting caught in a traffic jam due to a wreck twice; each time lasting about 15 minutes. And what happened after clearing these areas? Idiots were bobbing in and out of traffic in aggressive and stupid ways. I was leaving a wide breadth between myself and the next vehicle due to wet conditions (And also reaction time was sinking...Even as far back as Atlanta I heard a song and couldn't remember the name of the band that sang it (Aerosmith, Livin' on the Edge)), but these morans just thought it was free real estate! No! D:
Luckily we got into Kentucky and even though it was still super rainy, sights began to look familiar. We got to Cadiz, then the lakes, then LBL, then as we crossed the final bridge, because Tom had lent me his charger and his phone was dying, I lead him through Aurora and back to our house.
Oh man, it was great! The area has changed a whole lot with new buildings popping up, yet I recognize the familiar sights! When I got home I was able to pee off the deck while it rained and drank a couple Heinikens and then we ate some Beef stroganoff. While eating my BFF Adam came over, and we chatted a bit and looked in the basement and then after a while we headed to his house. I got to see his two sons and their super hyper dog, Daisy. I chatted with Kristen and saw the house that had once been his grandparents...And oh man, it was nice being back again!
I headed home around 10ish and after chatting with mum briefly, headed downstairs and did some typing. I played some craftmines until about 1, but I was too danged tired and soon fell asleep!
I hope everyone has a returning-to-Kentucky kinda day! <333
