Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I had some dreams about dragons and genetic engineering, and it sorta related to my dragon novel ideas! I woke up several times throughout the night...A couple times due to hearing a babby cry, but mostly because it got so danged cold! Like holy crap!
At sunrise I woke up and brushed my teeth and packed my stuff and wound up getting in my car, driving a couple hundred feet over to the visitor station, ate a breakfast bar, then took a nap. I woke up at around 9:42, went inside, grabbed some swag and a map, then drove on! I passed by a hole on the side of the road that was smoking and smelled of sulfur, and stopped by a rock that purported to be hot...It did feel warm, but I think it had more to do with the sunlight than any geothermal activity.
During this time I felt a little too alarmed by my fuel levels to stop anywhere or drive down any roads, so I simply made a leisurely drive of the park. It was a really cool drive through some very nice mountains that had clear evidence of a rocky (hehe) past.
When I left the park I simply drove to the closest town, which was called Shingleville, because it was just 17 miles away. I eventually found some pumps there after dwindling down to roughly 30 miles until empty...And when I filled up, I spent over $60 because Commiefornia...Gosh! x_x
I spent the rest of the day driving and snacking on foods in my car. There were winding roads and straight roads and winding roads...It alternated. During some of the straighter roads I gave mum and grandma each a call, and grandma seemed happy I would slowly start making my way back home.
At some point the trees became more alpine, more sleek...Then there were a few dribbles of precipitation. Clouds rolled around in the area, and it started to rain, and I even found a UFO show on the radio, which then turned into some avant garde music...Holy cow, it was peak PNW!
I got to the visitor center around 4ish and saw some bats roosting under the roof of the deck. I went bathroom, grabbed swag and a map, then headed to a nearby geocache. I let the soft rains batter me as I stepped onto the gritty beach near the Pacific Ocean. Of course it being my first time near this body of water, I did take a selfie before and after grabbing the cache, which was located between two large logs.
I then decided that I wanted to get a hotel to charge my computer and pay my credit card bill, so I drove slowly through the forests of redwoods. Lemme just say that as foggy and rainy as it was, and as mysterious as those cliffs of emerald are, I can easily see how people would 'see' bigfoot in this area. Those trees and the area were simply stunning.
The drive was really bad because of the fog limiting visibility, but I got to the town around 5ish and grabbed a hotel. They gave me room # 233 but I couldn't get the card to work, so they gave me room #330...Turns out I was using the card wrong...Oop!
I put my stuff in the room then walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant, where I got a tamale and relleno with rice and beans. After, I walked back and grabbed a shower and did computer things! I paid my card and chatted with frands and doodled 3 worldbuilds and watched tubes and tried to defrag my computer. I wound up staying up until 3 AM because so naughty!
I hope everyone has a Redwood National Park day! <333
