It's been a few years now since I used to draw historical themes on the regular. :E So most of my watchers probably don't realize I'm the biggest history fag ever. So super redesigned Roman OC from about 6 years ago from a plot where Mythology is Real™.
I remember like 3 years ago someone asked me if I'd ever draw Roman stuff again. I was laying in wait before the inspiration struck again. I was watching HBO's Rome for the hundredth time while mom was visiting last week.
Not sure if it's worth asking but if you have historical OCs, talk to me about them, I'm thirsty for that content™

Once upon a time I tried to get into some reenactment troops in my area for the american revolutionary stuff, but the closest I was able to get was American Civil War. Which, I mean was still fun to go hang out around the cannons :D Ever since that became harder to take a part in, my historical-type OCs have sort of been put on the back burner. I've very recently contemplated a medieval OC, though. I know a few jousters and they seem to have a lot of fun with trying to keep things period correct!
oh yeah I also wanted to get into reenactment but it's difficult depending on your area/chosen time period. :( For me, Age of Sail is a huge one and when I moved away from Florida any hope I had died with that rofll. I may go back someday though. Medieval stuff always has a dedicated fanbase though!
oooo That sounds like so much fun! I'm over in California, so as far as actual battles and everything, we were a little far from the action. At this point I'm just looking for something even slightly historical. The Civil War society that I was a part of had a civil war of it's own and fell apart, which has left me high and dry.
Oof that cape is to die for *_*
My absolute favorite OCs of mine are set in an alternate ancient Egyptian timeline (to excuse any inaccuracies and allow for more fun wardrobes of course), though my main boy is a priest of sorts who is an absolute psychopath.
Just acquired a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead which has been a fun time.

I’m more into mythology and culture than actual historical events (if for no other reason than I have a terrible memory for dates oof) but HOLY WOW AM I A SLUT FOR THIS DESIGN. HECK. Grecoroman anything is my first passion, and lately I’ve been watching Roman Empire on Netflix. I have no idea how historically accurate it is, but damn I love it!
He looks so cool!
I like history too. At the moment I talked myself into sewing a Napoleonic era French Hussar outfit for one of my dolls and I am going to die under a pile of buttons and cord.... and I gotta make the horse because my doll is a size/proportion that doesn't look great with premade horses.
