The highest geographical point, I surmise, is Telegraph Hill, offering a commanding view of the entire peninsula, and on top of that is Coit Tower. I saw it while walking the Embarcadero, and it was on my list of things to see.
I did get there eventually.
It felt so damned good to stretch my legs after over 8 hours in a plane that I walked from the hotel all the way nearly to Fisherman's Wharf and back. Dinner was a restaurant that was part of the hotel, named Perry's; I had a bottle of ginger beer and a seared ahi tuna sandwich with fries. Delicious, and that closed my first day.
