Thalassa! Thalassa!

Yes, there it is, El Mare Pacifico, and the farthest west I've ever managed to get.

Well, so far.

This picture was taken in the parking lot of the Beach Chalet hotel and restaurant, where I had lunch. The sound of the surf almost drowned out the traffic, and I felt rather good about myself for walking this far.

You can see that there was some weather building up out there in the distance. The temperature that Thursday was in the eighties, and the landward breeze coming up through the park kept me going and cooled me off.
