The streets were eerily empty and silent. The clop of cart horses or the murmur of late night tavern patrons couldn't be heard anywhere in the Kingdom. Not tonight... not... her night. When the moon rose on All Hallow's Eve the witch came forth in search of the wicked. The only sound was the terrified breathing of those huddled in their homes, praying to whatever gods they believed in that they hadn't done anything to incur her wrath. The silent pawsteps on cobbled stone were only visible from the wrathful glow of her magic as it twisted and churned in her paw. Some found her beautiful... a magnificent end to a life. Hoping for a loving embrace... which they would not receive.

One unlucky soul who was guilty of murdering his young mistress and her unborn child, found himself cowering in an alleyway armed with a knife. He saw the glow approaching... and saw it pass by the entrance to the alley. Feeling himself lucky, he almost laughed in triumph. Stupid witch, she must not be as keen as the legends told. But as he turned to go he was met with that sightless mask. The horned devil herself, paws ablaze with righteous fury.
...he begged...
...he pleaded...
"Mercy... MERCY!" he cried.
"Did she receive any?" was the cold whisper back to him "did either of them?..."
...He ran...
...He screamed...
...And he burned...



Random bit typed up just now for this piece. This is my lovely girl Iris, all dressed up and ready for trick or treating! (Of sorts).
