Submitted as part of a prompt event on Tyria's Library tumblr. Theme was a combination of Travel/Home, and Betrayal/Forgiveness.
In the aftermath of Dragonfall and the end of the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik, Cyrus and his crew are temporarily at a loss of purpose. Personally shaken by his encounter with Aurene, the new, benign Elder Dragon, Cyrus has retreated from the others to think.
Moryggan too, is unsettled, though she is more worried about Cyrus's state of mind. After years of plotting and planning the end of the Dragons, how does one adjust to knowing you cannot just do that anymore? That there are consequences? What happens when your life's purpose is removed?
