Ah, Friday 9/27, which means that I'm off to Fisherman's Wharf to take a tour of the bay.
It also means that this day's the one day where the weather was almost stereotypically shitty - chilly, damp, drizzly and raw. Nevertheless, the tour was paid for, and despite my aching feet (see Day #2) I headed north along the Embarcadero.
The Wharf area is a study in contrasts: Old established shops offering seafood and tourist kitsch on one side, and franchises like Applebee's and Boudin on the other. That's what you see in the picture. Behind me, on the other hand . . . to my left was the dock for the Red and White Fleet, to the right the Museé Mecanique, and directly behind a display of WW2 ships.
So, with a few hours before the boat sailed, I went (what else?) walking, headed west.
