Not much to say about this one. While I love the look of old style comics, drawing that way has never really been my thing, but i figured I might aswell give it a go for Inktober, seeing as it is topical ...

Um... Instill (can) draw this way for comics. I was never on the color side of the business, so I used to do it all with steel tipped pens, watercolor brushes, and Zip-A-Tone. Later I went to all digital, but it was after I moved on to video game production. Now it has moved on to CSP and has become so easy. Kids these days....
What you have here looks good. Nice use of tone. Contrast could use a little work, but in general the intent of the image is clear.

Contrast, or rather, values is still a big weakness of mine that I'm trying to fix. I know the theory. At this point it's really just learning to apply it properly. I do feel I'm learning though :3
As for kids these days; I was in the last class at our art school to learn actually using inks and general hand crafts for the business. The class that came after me began using laptops in the first year. I'll admit I've forgotten plenty of it by now, but I'm sure I could probably dig up the odl tools and give them a spin.

Heh, it could have been funny, but I don't think you would have seen a whole lot of the information. Plus, as fun as it is putting obscure references in a piece, for this particular one it might have come off as wanking in my audience's face, seeing as I haven't uploaded anything this month XD
Pepe Silivia! Pepe Silvia! What do you mean there's no Pepe Silvia? I got boxes of Pepe!
So I march my way down to Carol in HR, and I say, "CAROL! CAAAROOOL! I gotta talk to you about Pepe!" And when I open the door, what do I find? There is not a SINGLE goddamn desk in that office! There is no Carol in HR! Mac, half the employees in this building have been made up! This office is a goddamn ghost town!

Thank you very much ^^
Dots like that weren't usually hand drawn, but pasted in from pre-printed adhesive sheets. The couple folks who commented here who have experience with it call it Zip-a-tone, which is one of the brand names by which it ran. I know it as Letraset, since that's what my teachers referred to it as.
Basically these things were the next-gen version of cross hatching when it came out.

looks like my old mechanicals in the print shop. I had a bunch of zipatone to cut out to do different shades. then my best artwork would be laying on the floor with the client walking all over it, and he'd fish out some piece of shit and say "Can you do something with this?" The print shop owner would take over so I didn't punch the guy then. The world before computers!
It would look better with a furry instead of a human, out of the early sixties.
