So back with this gorgeous dragoness again. It's another short chapter but next month it'll be longer.

Two Worlds
Routine
It didn’t take long for Amethyst to fall into a schedule while here with Talon. After waking up with the others and getting ready, food was eaten before the dragons here divided up to deal with the tasks of the day. For the wingless dragoness, that meant training to get her use to the weapon she had chosen. But this didn’t go on the whole morning as Amethyst hadn’t built up enough stamina for fighting. It was different than the one she had thanks to working at that awful place. However thanks to that, the female could do a number of stretches and was quiet flexible without hurting or straining herself which would help in fighting when it came to the latter. Amethyst still practiced with Janet but some of it had to be either by herself or with any of the new beings who came in. They didn’t come in every day, but when they did, Amethyst made sure to greet them with a smile. This was due to a lot of them being wingless like her so the dragoness understood their pain and hardship the best. But no matter what was happening, Amethyst would eat lunch at around noon or a little later. From there it was onto learning a bit in hand to hand combat. It was more in case she lost her sword so that Amethyst would know what to do in order to recover it, get a new one, or get out of a dangerous situation. The evenings were spent in rest and learning the secret areas this city had. There were more than just the hidden passages she’d been shown so far. Due to hold old Verona was there were a number that Talon used in missions against the rulers here and others the group fought against. Then it was off to bed. Despite how simple this routine was, it wasn’t too bad or boring. Amethyst learned quickly due to her age and found herself getting better with the sword each day. She found what drove her was not only for eventually fighting against her ex-employees, but also for Nicholas. Even if the dragoness thought he was beyond her, just being there and supporting him in battle was more than enough to motivate her. Also since staying underground and inside all the time was a bad thing, Amethyst and the others were allowed to go out in small groups to get some fresh air and be in the outside world. But when doing so, Amethyst always made sure to wear the cloak Nicholas had given her to hide herself. She was certain Daniel and Eve by this point must have realized that she and her sister were gone and livid with rage. Without a doubt they’d be searching for the two with everything possible. And getting caught would be a very bad thing.
As for Nicholas himself, he didn’t stay with Talon all the days or his family. This was due to their responsibilities above ground. But Amethyst and him did see the other often enough. Usually he saw her training and could tell the dragoness was improving. Other times it was during eating breaks and even when new recruits came in. One thing about him that really stuck out to Amethyst was the time she saw a single father with a young daughter who looked just as raggedy as she had been when meeting Nicholas. What the wingless female saw was how the winged one smiled at the hatchling and how he was able to make her smile. It made Amethyst grin with warmth, seeing how good with kids Nicholas was. Even so it made her sad that even if it was another quality of the long-haired male she liked, someone like him still seemed out of her league. But she would learn in time that wasn’t the case. But for now, Amethyst just kept training. And it was due to all of this that soon to her surprise, it had already been a month since she had joined Talon. As well she had gotten a letter from her mother Julie and sister Jasmine. They had made it to Manuta safety and Monique was watching over them. The two then said in the letter how great life was and how beautiful the place was. They missed Amethyst and hoped to see her come to where they were soon. Amethyst wrote back to them right away and told them how things were going here. She didn’t mention anything about her feelings for Nicholas as the dragoness felt that was her business only. She did show Nicholas the letter and asked about when she could see them. “That’s up to Torn,” the dragon answered. “He’s very understanding and I’m sure he’ll allow you to see them. But it takes time to get to Manuta. I know cause I’ve been there a couple of times.”
“Really? That’s good then…” Amethyst said and then went silent.
“Something wrong?” he asked with concern with slight blush. She blushed a bit harder than him.
She shook her head. “It’s nothing.” She began to walk away but then turned her head to look back at him. This allowed him to finally see part of her left eye that her hair always seemed to cover. It looked beautiful to the male to see both of her eyes looking back at him. “Well, I think I’ll go talk to Torn about this.”
“Very well,” he replied and watched the dragoness he secretly loved walk away.
It was then at the end of this month that a surprise would come for her and the long-haired male she secretly liked. They were meeting with Torn and the other leaders. “Really?” Amethyst asked, shocked when learning the reason why. “You want me to go on a mission already?”
“It’s not a difficult one,” the main leader of Talon told her. “It’s just a spying one. Janet will help you with and Nicholas here will accompany you. Every new member gets a mission like this to start out with so it’ll be perfect for you.”
“We’ll take care of it no problem!” the second dragoness stated. “Just tell us what to do and we’ll be on our way!”
Torn told them where and what was required and then wished them good luck. “I don’t know about this…” Amethyst told Nicholas.
“Hey, I wasn’t so sure when I first went out like this,” he said to her. “You’ll be fine. Trust me.” The dragoness still doubted herself but knew there wasn’t a choice. The time to start proving herself had arrived.
