This was kinda sorta going to be a redraw of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8135464/ and then it kinda evolved into something different using ideas from way back in 2011 when I wanted to kill off Shinzu before I got sick of her, but then my friends wanted me to bring her back so I thought about bringing her back as a Phoenix, and uh... i dunno.
I kinda took design queues from the Vermillion Sparrow of the south from Taoist astrology. you've probably seen an anime or a video game from Japan that refers to a character with similar motifs as "Suzaku", and she's usually accompanied by a white tiger named "Byakko", a turtle named "Genbu", and a serpent named "Seiryu". I dunno.
