Sadly, I was not at FC. Crepe is the material used, and specifically the type used was a diamond patterned vulcrepe. I may have the iron measurement somewhere. I used the ribbed patterned crepe for sandals which is slightly thicker.
Crepe is used on normal shoes, which are great for using on parade feet. I use a waterproof contact cement to attach both halves. Coat each side until it is tacky, then attach them together.
When you do, make sure to align them correctly on the first try. Separating them gets interesting, as they will not want to let go.
