For some background on Lavender she is Masque's adopted daughter, Masque found Lavender lost in the woods and took her in. She doesn't remember how she got lost or where she came from, she trusted Masque immediately, Lavender is telepathic and can read almost anyone's mind (the only people she cannot read at all are Wraith's twin daughters Belle and Glace as their minds are linked in such a complex way Lavender can't comprehend their thoughts) she knew straight away Masque was a kind and trustworthy person, Masque not only raised Lavender but also taught her everything she knows except for magic because for some reason even Masque can't figure out, Lavender cannot use magic.
