Katrina was raised by a wolf called Rose, Rose found the human baby in the arms of her injured birth mother. The mother was losing blood too fast to stop, she pleaded with Rose to save her daughter, Rose took the child and swore to look after her. She fed her on her own milk which seemed to affect her physiology making her stronger and more agile, her teeth grew sharp and her stomach was capable of digesting raw meat. Rose gave her adopted daughter a golden fur cloak for her 17th birthday, this was also the day Rose told Katrina the whole truth. It didn't matter to Katrina, she was tough and although it was a shock to find Rose wasn't her real mother it didn't change how she thought about who she was. She was curious as to where she came from though and went in search of her birth mothers home, she found it abandoned and ransacked, the only thing of note she found was a strange collar with a black gem set into it which she later found out was a Shadowheart upon wearing it a Shadowchildren was born she named her Arisi and raised her as her Daughter just as Rose had done for her, though Arisi has a much shorter childhood that Katrina did, she was born with the physical body of a 4-year-old and matures faster than a normal child and although She was only born 4 years ago Arisi is physically around 13 years old. As she matures her aging slows and it'll be 7-9 years before she matures to the age of 18. The gemstone is Arisi's heart but must be kept away from her until she's fully grown otherwise she won't be able to cope with the dark energy inside and it would likely undo all the work Katrina has done raising her as a good kind soul. The gem also had an effect on Katrina, it gave her some degree of magic she didn't have before, the magic she uses is in the vine tattoos across her body, these tattoos become actual vines grow thorns and lash like whips whether this magic will stay once Katrina gives Arisi the collar is unclear but it's not something she would mind losing, Arisi means more to her than anything else ever could.
