Large male Iguana at Out of Africa Park in Arizona. Seems to be in breeding colors, bit odd for early October but I'm no reptile expert. Looks like he's ready for Halloween. Makes me think of my dad's old joke about those things going "I gwanna eat ya"

That is one fat, healthy male iguana. You caught him in a yawn too. Breeders have seriously started a wide spectrum of colors on theses lizards ranging from yellow to bright blue than the usual green.
I once had a Nicaraguan female we named 'Orange Bitch' that wasn't even that orange.
FYI, you can always sex the iguanas by looking at the crest of the lizard, the males are far longer, plus their cheeks are fatter and have one big 'sex shield'. That huge circular scale on the cheek. The females have one larger and a smaller one next to it. But the males will always have the fat cheeks and longer crest scales.

It was funny, I had just entered the park and saw something orange moving in one enclosure - bit of a wtf is that moment. Walked up and went damn. Started firing off images rapid fire - trying out a Canon Rebel eos T3i I'd picked up in a pawn shop a few days ago. Damn happy with that camera. Have a few more images of that big oranage Iguana. Damn it is nice to be able to take a butt load of images and not have to develop them - did that professionally for most of a year in 1990 and had a home dark room for astro photography a long time ago.
