For the shading. Try putting a really scraggly looking brush on the smudge tool, and see where that gets you,
It's what I used to do, to get a decent looking fur effect. :3
It helps to build a little bit more base for all those fur chunks.
Like, just rough up the edges of your shading and lighting~

Gosh, just look at him and that tum! I love how you shaped it for him in this, it's definitely and noticably full of prey, but still fits his streamline body with it's roundness~
..... I realize I sound oddly scholarly about analyzing the tum design, but it truly is azing, ah haha~
