The flagships of the Betelgeusian fleets, the Hive Ship is the most important vessel on the field. As well as being extremely large, heavily armed, and well-armored, a Hive Ship carries the hive's Queen, without which a new colony cannot be founded. These monstrous vessels are capable of making landfall on a planet in order to disgorge legions of Betelgeusian ground troops, can launch squadrons of fighters, and can carry disassembled orbital defense platforms in their legs so that they might better stake their claim.
