OKAY so i know i post a bit on this album, but i decided to finally pay a real tribute and base a drawing around it!
in case you didnt know, i am totally ENAMORED with the kesha album, rainbow. it’s got such character and charm i’ve never heard in an entire album like this one before, and the words stringing together the powerful stories they do nearly bring me to teary eyes, even after listening again and again and again.
this album has helped me SO MUCH since its release. i struggle with mental health, especially trauma, and the way kesha writes these songs to prove she’s grown gives me so much motivation and helped me find my inner power. it’s helped me with moving on from heavy traumatic events, moving on and away from toxic people, given me peace, and even helped me find pieces of myself and i grow further and further into adulthood. i was so terrified of growing up years ago, i would even cry at the idea.
now that i am 24, i honestly want to laugh and hold younger me. growing up doesn’t mean a thing unless you let it- you can (and should!) still be you, you can have your fun and smiles, just be prepared to brace hell every once in awhile. i am so happy to be who i am, where i am, and the story i’m weaving all on my own in this big scary world- but now that i am older, i am stronger and keener with my age, it’s not all that scary as they say after all.
i just wanted to share a little bit of me with this piece! ❤️
this is such a personal piece that i almost feel self conscious, even nervous posting it, but i am still so happy i made it.
YES LOL i really did go the extra mile and drew kesha as a furry- she’s always reminded me of coyotes, fun and loud and free!
