I like this step, I would get a lot of projects up to this stage before finishing anything because this is where it's already fun to fondle and play with. Good taste putting three pins in a small knife handle, no rattle.

I'm planning to epoxy the handle in place as well. I used to find that sort of distasteful, but what's honestly inferior about making it more stable?

It felt a little bit cheaty, but I think I mostly thought the katana thing of being able to remove the handle again later was cool. That was silly though. I still think etching something special into the tang is classy, especially if nobody will see it for many centuries until it's found in the ruins of a house fire.

Glad you think so. I'm using this as a sort of 'graduation piece', applying what I've learned in a more orderly and deliberate fashion than I have in the past. So far it's coming together without any serious hitches—knock on wood.
