So, from generic sketch before Christmas, to inks a week ago, to coloured now. My birdgirl avian phoenix is finished!
Doesn't look so much like
ebonyleopard 's Phenix now, does she (read earlier WIP submission description). But no doubt she'd love to be swept up in the arms of a big strong bird like Xenif just the same.
My first SAI picture (well, mostly SAI; some final details and the background were added in Photoshop). I love SAI vectors, much more natural than Photoshop paths, and I love the SAI water brush, powered by magic. Honestly, Magic.
I am aware birds do not have navels, but they don't technically have breasts either, so chalk it up to artistic licence.
Well, I can't keep calling her birdgirl forever, so here's your chance to contribute! Why not try to think up a name for her?

Phoenixes are phoenixes and I don't believe copyright extends to actual characters themselves, so if you had a character which appeared similar to my design, I couldn't stop you. If, however, you mean that you want to use the image as a representation of your character, then no, that's not okay; the image is copyrighted and therefore I have some control over how it is used.
Feel free to link to the image with a "Looks something like this picture" if you want to though. Just don't claim the image _is_ your character.
I think that covers the legal bases. But I'm not entirely sure.

Maybe this drawn a while back, but I still adore this picture <3 you don't see enough bird art around FA. And this is a very beautiful anthro, both in form and artistic ability to make it look believable (outside navels and breasts and furries) I've been looking for some nice looking avians today, this was a home run for me.
