Another story starring Vince and Emma, the pair that starred in Mouse Porn. This story references the events in that story (somewhat) but if you don't or can't read that story, I'll sum up thusly: Vince is a gay rat that fell for his roommate, a mouse named Emma. They're in a relationship now.
Anyway, this story is a Thursday Prompt response. Check it, yo.

A Thursday Prompt response
Vince wasn't really watching the TV anymore, because he was too annoyed. He checked his watch again, then turned the TV off. "EMMA!" the rat shouted. "Hurry UP!"
"I am hurrying!" came the voice from the mouse girl from behind her door. He could hear light shuffling as what he would assume were clothes being thrown around.
"If you're hurrying, why are you taking so long?" Vince protested. "C'mon, girl, I told you an hour ago that we were leaving at 9:30!"
"Dammit, Vince, I'm a girl! I reserve the right to take a long time!"
"And I'm gay! I didn't take this long!"
There was a noise that sounded like Emma stomping her foot. "You're still not female, you don't understand!"
Vince was about to answer heatedly before letting out a sigh, palm meeting face briefly before it was dragged off. "Look. Emma. We're going to be late. It's never been a problem before when we've gone to see a movie. You don't have to dress up." His statement was met with silence, which he let hang for a while before going on. "Why don't I help you pick out your clothes?"
"NO!" came the response, inciting the rat's anger once again.
"Oh c'mon, Emma! I helped you buy at least half your freakin' wardrobe! What about the white and blue top with the--"
"Vince, shut up! I can pick my out my own clothes!"
"Emma, it's 9:35! Your right to pick out your own clothes isn't as strong as my right to not be late!" Getting up, Vince went over to her room and put his hand on the door.
"Vince, do NOT open that door!"
"Emma, I've seen you naked on many occassions before; any argument you have against seeing you unclothed is invalid. Now I am coming in!"
Vince pushed, then felt the door push back. He started to pound against the door, but then controlled his anger, letting out a heavy sigh. "Emma, we're just going to see a movie. Why are you agonizing so much over what you're wearing?"
At first there was silence, then "It's not just a movie," said somewhat with a sulk.
Flabbergasted, the rat once again appealed to her. "Yes it is! Yes it is, Emma, it's just a movie! We've seen movies together tons of times before! There's nothing different between then and now!"
"There's one difference."
"What possible diff--" Vince began before he stopped. Something occurred to him. Suddenly, everything made sense. "Oh. That thing."
"Yes, Vince, that thing." A sigh from behind the door, then several failed starts at words before Emma finally started speaking again. "Five minutes."
Vince checked his watch before leaning against the couch. "Please hurry." Running a hand through his head, he thought about how things had been between them. It took him a few minutes before he could muster an apology. "Look, Emma, I'm sorry--"
Emma's door swung open, and she stepped out. She wore a simple blue dress that hung down to her knees. It had a v-neck collar, and under the dress was a white t-shirt. Matching that were some cute blue flats, something that Vince remembered helping her pick out. She looked nervous. "How do I look?"
The rat nodded. "You look good. You look very nice."
She smiled, and bounced forward, linking her arm around one of Vince's and pulling the rat to his feet. Vince caught the scent of her perfume, and also felt her tail lightly toy with his own. "I'm ready for our date," she told him.
"It's not a--" Vince began weakly.
"It is now," Emma said, gently pulling him toward the door to the apartment.
