Dragon pup with a mane of stardust.
it's a male.
the gems on its body are a result of calcification of various substances in it's blood (mixed with it's own plasma clotting factors). The "scab" ends up looking like gems on its body where it has sustained a wound.
When they die, their bodies become fragile crystals.
It has whiskers on it's snout (the long strands that end on bouquets of flowers).
The flowers change with the season sometimes and fall off when they're in their ripest form, to wither away eventually and die. It then sprouts new ones eventually.
The same goes for the horns on its head that end in leaves. (so it really has tiny trees attached to it's head). The little trees can grow various fruits (lmao) that can feed other living things. If the horns get cut off, they eventually grow back but the pup will be very moody because it takes pride in its appearance.
It has rather huge claws... (maybe a mistake of exaggeration on my part but they aren't bothersome to me). Usually a docile creature but can cut flesh in playfights and even kill, obviously if provoked. Though, they rarely are.
As for diet....omnivores.
It carries a crystal orb that is fashioned from it's own blood and breath. Each one from a different pup has special powers of healing, life giving, earthquakes- (magic therefor i don't have to explain anything idea-but i'm attempting to here lol).
It takes 100 years to lay an egg.
Some are shapeshifters but between each pup and their powers, there are stipulations as to what they can and can't do (if shapeshifter, some can only change form once, or for a period of time. Those that can fly do not possess language- so it depends on the combinations).
