#13: Jackalope

It's 13 days until Halloween and that means it's time to finally get this year's Halloween Countdown on the metaphorical road, so let's do just that. Urban legends/Cryptids are things that have always enticed me and I think that's from being a combo of fantastical stories that could maybe be true. Sure, most of them are clearly fake but the fact that some of these tall tales have endured for so long is intriguing and maybe, just maybe there's more truth to them then most give credit for.

This can not be said of today's entry. The Jackalope is pretty openly debunked but despite simply being a rabbit with antlers I really couldn't find it in myself to not include it, though to be fair I almost didn't because again, it's just a rabbit with friggin' antlers! It's definitely the least fantastical entry on this list but I guess that's what being bottom tier is all about. However the real reason I chose to add the Jackalope was that it's actually the first Cryptid I ever heard about so with that in mind I figured was the perfect segue into this year's countdown by way of sharing my own experience with you. It's simple. It's cheesy. It's bland, but it gets the ball rolling for much more interesting topics.
