Reaper originally lived during the old age where magic still a popular thing. He has a lot of potential in the arcane craft and was the best in his class. However, it changed when he come across two forbidden books. One that teaches necromancy and the other Soul magic. He disappears from his college of magic to studies them for many years, siphoning souls along the way. His magic potency grown more and more powerful by each souls consumed and his lifespan extends indefinitely. At this point, he cannot be killed by any normal means and is considered immortal.

Many strong warriors and adventurers fell victim to his hunger for power, joining the ranks of his undead army and merging into what is known as an amalgamation, instead of simply 'his soul'. The souls within have their will stripped from them, operating in a hive mind under Severin's command. Their spiritual representation can be called out to assist Severin in battle as well as transferring their skills onto him. His magic is also influenced by soul magic, they take on a light blue color and are much much stronger than normal magic.

A group is formed called the Templars. They sought to eliminate Reaper once and for all and grant the souls he capture eternal rest. And though their light magic can nullify Severin's bind to countless souls, he was too clever and powerful to overcome. The group's numbers dropped more and more and the kingdoms are now trying to take desperate measures. They first sought out to kill every possible Grim family member in spite. This causes Reaper to unleash his wrath upon the very kingdom that did this, wiping out everybody and erased it off of the map.

The world is at their knees when Reaper found a women whom he falls in love with. They spend time together in secret for months before she realize who he really is. With the noticeable lack of destruction, the kingdoms unite together and began searching for him. The women knew of this and tricked Reaper by sealing him away from the world for good. She was found out and executed at the spot after they failed to get any information from her. Severin was never found after that.

While the kingdoms are recovering, the remainder of the Templar order demand a ban on magic and burned any tomes and spell books found in the world. Few have survived this purged but not enough to remain relevant. And everybody wanted to forget what has happened, silencing those who talked about it. The Silencing Era.

Technology later strives and innovated the world. Magic only exist in fairy tales and Severin's tale became a popular grim romance story. But is still believed to remain fictional with many interpretation. The templar order still exist and is the only group with magic but they are seen as a group of lunatics. However, there is a cult revolving around an entity known as the Raven God who has been searching for Reaper's resting place for many years. They call themselves the Raven Cult and are not known to the public. They are also another group who knows magic, dark magic.

Reaper was awaken, not by the Raven cult, but by a mysterious four eyed Raven who said nothing and left. His hatred towards all living things still flows within him, the betrayal still scars his heart. But his anger contained. He starts his life small as a cleaner business, cleaning up battlefields where no criminal organization would want the police to know about. Along with getting paid, he also obtain corpses to slowly add to his undead army. And though still powerful, he hires bodyguards to watch over him as he make deals with shady characters. At this time, he learns the fate of this world, magic forgotten but Templar still exist. He will use this to his advantage.

It's been so many years since Reaper used his old name, Severin Grim, to the point that he forgot about it. His family line is dead and he is the last surviving member of it. He will forever consider this label, Reaper, to be his true name.
