#12: Spring-Heeled Jack

Spring-Heeled Jack's a bit of an oddity even among urban legends. He's not really of much note and from what I can tell his presence was pretty short lived and was mainly limited to "some bloke who jumps really well." True, in some version he's more akin to a devil and he has been likened unto a Mr. Hyde type character or even Jack the Ripper but he's a pretty forgettable tale all together. My first knowledge of the character came from Jackie Chan Adventures and even then I thought he was made up for the show, I didn't find out until more recently that he was an actual urban legend.

So why did I add him if he's so mediocre? Eh, I guess I just like flexing my knowledge of lesser known entities, that and I needed something else to fill out the bottom ranks before entering into more well known stuff! Still though, something captivates me about Spring-Heeled Jack. I like picturing he's this debonair gentleman thief who never loses his posh air or his manners as he bounces through the night and I will never view him as anything but!
