Frozen Firefox - Lolcat Set 45/52
This card is one made for the first attempt at a set to contribute to a made-card draft. It wasn't going to be included in the set, since it's enemy colors and not actually a cat, (the theme was lolcats, and there are currently 50-ish first draft cards) but I really like the design of the card, so I wanted to publish it. Let me know what you think, but keep in mind, this entire set was pretty universally top-down design.

It's not an artifact, certainly, because it's thoroughly colored. It's not an enchantment because I decided that since the effect does expire, albeit a few turns in, the only way to be properly sure it "stuck", per se, was to ensure the continuity of the effect was tied to the creature, not the enchantment, the way I wanted it to be. I mean, it wouldn't really fit the flavor for a frozen thing to get un-frozen by artifact or enchantment destruction. It's not meant to be a solid prison or magical ice to dispel, it's just solid, thawing fire-ice.
As an enduring effect, it does seem enchant-y, but if Sleep can stall out a board at sorcery speed, then this can stick past the first turn it's been played. Time counters are already established, and get removed one at a time on your upkeep already, (re: suspend) so it's not like they're being used differently.

lol... I think if it cost one less, it wouldn't even be a question. As it is, it's fairly balanced... with the added advantage of being costed to aim at higher-power creatures. I mean, if you're just tapping it to pop out a little baby merfolk, it's not much of a big deal... but the more power you apply it to, the better it becomes. It turns 2 power into 3 damage, 4 into 10, and 6 into 21, over as many turns, so it just scales up, especially when your opponent manifests a nasty blocker.
