After what had been a very eventful weekend (Especially for a certain Bunny gal) a new week had started, and "Shelly's Maiden Service" was open for business as usual.
As all the working Maids came for their morning meeting of the day they found that they were one Maid short, and had to wait for her to arrive as well.
After almost 5 minutes of waiting, Amber came to join the rest of the team, as she was looking surprisingly upbeat and happy today.
Skipping to her seat Amber could be heard singing loud and clear to herself a lot, which was in the ears of the rest "Rather well then good" to put it mildly.
Seeing how she now had everyone starring at her Amber figured she should probably explain herself a bit, so she started by asking them "You are all probably wondering why I am in such a happy mood today?", to which everyone just looked at each other in confusion.
Realizing that she wasn't going to get the response she wanted Amber decided to just tell the whole story about her trying to earn some extra money with her corner monologue, and how she had on her way back found the flyer advertising about the song-writing contest taking place at the "Dragon's Hoard" tavern.
"So as you can all imagine, I am looking to easily earn myself those 1,000$!" Amber said proudly, as once again everyone else looked like they wanted to say something to her, but just didn't know how to put it.
That's when Sarah took the word (As she had been sitting playing with her cell phone during the whole time Amber had been talking) as she asked the Bunny girl, "Just one question. Have your actual singing talent improved anything since last time?" which this time caused Amber to be the one not knowing how to answer.
"I'm still saying you are completely free to do as you please, but don't be too sad when reality sets in." Sarah added before Shelly came into the room, and the morning meeting could finally start.
Once being out on the roads for their first job of the day Robin couldn't help but feel pretty split over the whole thing, which Honey noticed as she was driving them.
"Are you still thinking about Amber, dear?" Honey asked as Robin could do nothing but confirm it.
"I'm just so split about what happened back there between Amber and Sarah. On one hand, I really think that was pretty harsh of Sarah to say to her, but sadly she is really saying what we all were probably thinking." Robin said as Honey agreed that it was a pretty complicated case.
"I think all we can do right now is to try and show our full support for Amber, and then try to be gentle to her when she...probably ends up crying afterward." Honey told Robin, as the two of them soon found themselves at the destination for their first cleaning job.
Their client this time was a young Bull guy living at a small apartment inside of an old townhouse, who figured hiring Maids to do his cleaning would be much easier than to do it himself.
"Never stops to surprise you how many lazy kids we get to help out, right Robin?" Honey sighed as she and Robin tried to get started on cleaning the place, knowing that the small size of it would at least mean that it would be over much more quickly.
Since the guy decided to go run an errand while they cleaned up it was pretty quiet up in the small 2 room apartment, as Honey went cleaning the bathroom while Robin did the main room.
When getting to the bed that was tucked into one of the corners he could hear the sound of furs talking on the other side of the walls, which proved the age of the place since they must be pretty thin.
Being known for his curiosity Robin decided to lay an ear onto the wall, and what he heard truly surprised him.
Robin couldn't make out how many there was staying in the apartment next door, but if judging by the sound of their voices they all sounded pretty pissed about something.
"Heard that the Dragon's Hoard is going to host their little song-writing contest again?"
"That's right. But honestly, is it even worth giving damn trying at this point?"
"They claim that this thing is "fair games", but I can't start to tell you how many times I have tried taking part in that, and during a critical part of my performance the audio suddenly goes all haywire!"
"That happened to me too! Claims it was just "technical difficulties", but then later when that Horse Chick went up to sing everything seemed to be working just fine!"
"What about you Jerry? Didn't you also try to compete one time?"
"I did, but honestly...I can't recall one thing that happens at that bar that night."
"Jerry, dude. I know you can sometimes get a bit "to happy" at the bar, but I thought you would keep yourself in check during such an important night."
"I swear I only took 1 or 2 quick drinks to calm my nerves, but they must be serving some sick strong stuff there since I felt so wasted by the time I got up onto that stage! I'm telling you, I could barely stand on my two feet once I was done."
"It's just like I said, that whole place just screams rigged!"
"I can only feel sorry for anyone that will just end up making a great big fool out of themselves during tonight's contest!"
Putting his ear away from the wall Robin at first didn't know what to make out of all that, but if what those other musicians and singers was saying actually was true then Amber might risk making a big embarrassment out of herself!
Running quickly over to the bathroom Robin told Honey about everything that he had overheard, and at first Honey wasn't all to sure if that info was something to trust so fully on.
"Are you sure they weren't just a bunch of sore losers, acting a bit like how Amber would if she wouldn't win?" Honey asked, as Robin had to admit that it wouldn't be too unlikely of a way for the Bunny girl to react if things didn't go her way.
"But still I think there is more to this than just that. The way they all listed many different things that had just happen to go wrong each time just seems to...convenient to me." Robin said as while he didn't like Amber's way of constantly trying to force a relationship onto him, he still cared about her enough to not want to see her make a complete wreck of herself on stage.
"Well, if you really think there is something strange going on at that tavern." Honey said as she laid a hand onto Robin's shoulder. "Maybe it is best that we both later tonight make a visit to that place, and try to be moral support for Amber?"
Said and done the two Maids soon got done with their easy cleaning job, as they then headed back to the base and told Amber about how they both wanted to "Come and see her perform".
This made the Bunny girl slightly nervous, since she hadn't expected two of her colleagues to be even a little bit interested in seeing her compete.
Still, she knew that she would just end up looking stupid if she said no to their offer, so she reluctantly let them come with her to the tavern later that night.
Plus, it did feel good to have at least some support with her. (Since Christine once again had to work a night-shift, and therefore couldn't be there.)
"I'm not gonna lie to you, but I am feeling pretty freaking nervous right now!" Amber said before then looking over at Robin and Honey, and adding "But knowing that I have you two here really makes me feel a little bit better about doing this."
While the two co-workers did feel rather flattered by those words, they did know their real intentions for being at the place was to figure out if there was any truth laying behind the rumors about "rigged contests".
Having told Honey earlier about everything he had heard the two of them decided to split up and look for clues, hoping in that way to find out what was really going on.
So shortly after just walking inside Robin said that he really wanted to take a look around at this new place, while Honey offered to give Amber a free drink as she would take a closer look at the bar.
The plan was for Robin to look into the "malfunctioning sound" that one of the voices had claimed happen during his performance, and find out if it had actually been set to fail or not?
Heading over to the stage Robin stopped a pretty fat looking Raccoon guy being in charge of the sound mixing equipment, and he made sure to keep a distance so that he wouldn't notice the Deer watching him.
After a few moments Robin then saw how some random Horse lady showed up to talk to him, and they seemed to know each other well since they shouted "Sean!" and "Dennie C!" to each other.
Robin wasn't going to think much about it, but then he spotted how the two suddenly gave each other a big high five after mumbling about something. (Really raising the level of Robin's suspicious meter.)
Over at the bar, Honey and Amber sat down to order a few drinks from the bartender, who was a Lizard guy introducing himself as "Jaime" to them both.
"What can I help you two nice looking ladies with tonight?" Jaime asked in a very charming manner, as Amber asked if she could have "Something small to calm my performance nerves".
That made the bartender raise an eyebrow as he asked, "So you are taking part in the singing contest, eh?" making both Amber and Honey wonder why that was so strange.
"Oh, nothing. It's just good that I know, cause then I could give you our "Special Offer", little Bunny girl." Jamie explained, making Amber very curious about what the special offer she could get was.
"Those that are participating in the singing contest have the right to get 1 or 2 small drink for free, as a way for us to show you our support." Jamie said as he then asked Amber for how many drinks she would need while holding out two shot glasses.
"Oh dear! In that case, I probably can only take one! I am pretty weak to the effects of alcohol after all." Amber said while flushing a bit, as Jamie on the other hand held a pretty solid face as he just said "I see..." before then putting away one of the glasses and reaching for a bottle.
"And I take it that you are just here to find luck, my curvy beauty?" Jamie asked Honey casually, to which the Bear lady very politely told him that she was already a married woman. (Which seemed to disappoint the Bartending Lizard a bit.)
After pouring a little bit into the small glass Jamie handed it over to Amber, who said a quick "Thank you." before then downing it in one go, like you are supposed to do with a shot.
Feeling a sudden rush running through her body Amber asked herself just how strong that stuff was, with Jamie assuring her that "It is one of our more milder drinks."
"Guess I have an even worse limit for how much I can take then I thought!" Amber said as she got off her seat, and then started to walk away in a very trippy looking fashion.
Knowing that she needed to help her friend Honey also quickly left her barstool, but as she did leave she just knew that there was something pretty fishy about that Lizard bartender.
Reuniting together again Amber was starting to already look pretty tipsy by her one drink, as Robin and Honey started to share the info both of them had got so far.
Robin told Honey about the sound checking Raccoon and Hose girl as she provided him info about the Lizard bartender, and as they started to think deeper around it Honey said that she, "Might have an idea of how it is all connected..."
That's when suddenly Robin heard a familiar voice shouting "Hey Robin! Fancy seeing you here!", and when turning around he couldn't believe who he saw!
"Magnus Owl!" Robin shouted in amazement, as it was indeed the same iconic rock musician that he had been helping to clean the mansion off a while ago.
Being super excited over seeing the talented Mr. Owl again Robin took and gave him a big hug, as he then asked him over why he had suddenly shown up here?
"I'm one of the owners of this Tavern, and I had been invited to be the guest-judge over the singing competition tonight." Magnus explained before then having a staff member coming up, and telling him that he needed to be ready for the contest to start in just a few minutes.
That same staff member then looked at Amber and told her "You will need to be ready backstage, since we will soon start with the performances.", making the Bunny girl instantly nervous over she was going to do.
But it wasn't used starting to get worried as both Amber and Magnus had to start heading towards the stage, while Honey pulled Robin closer to her.
"I think I know how it is all connected, and while Magnus kept you all distracted I sneaked away to grab this." Honey said and held out a small microphone, that was able to operate without a wire.
"What am I suppose to do with this?" Robin asked confused as Honey handed it over to him and said, "Just keep it hidden on yourself, but still close enough so it can pick up the sound of you speaking when the time is right."
Honey then went on to quickly explain for Robin how she thinks the bartender is working together on this whole scheme, and that maybe they could end up making him confess it all under the hidden microphone.
"He showed clear signs of being interested in "big ladies", so if he sees you being interested in him then I'm sure he will start to talk." Honey explained as Robin agreed on doing it, but being a bit unsure at first about just where to hide the thing! (But as he had to make his way to the bar he decided to try and stuff the thing deep within his moobs, with only the very top bit still being visible if one was to look straight down into his dress.)
"I will try to find the right moment to plug the other part of this in and get it to play the audio, but you need to make Jamie start to say things he probably should have kept hidden." Honey told Robin as the two parted ways, and the Deer boy now found himself having to try and act all "ladylike" in order to charm the guy.
As Robin headed towards the bar Magnus got himself comfy in the judge chair, as the first act of the evening was to perform on stage.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...Dennie C!" The announcer said as the young Horse girl stepped up, and then started on her performance.
In the meantime, Robin had found his way to the bar, and remembering what Honey had said earlier the drag Deer tried his best to look "flirty" as he took a seat.
"My, my, my, What does a young lady like yourself do here on a night like this?" A very interested looking Jamie asked as Robin answered "Just hoping to find some good company to start something with.", while making sure to make his voice a bit more high pitched so that he would sound more "lady" like.
Clearly taking the hint Jamie didn't take long to offer himself up as a "good option", telling Robin that he would "Gladly getting to know you better".
"Not to be THAT kind of lady now, but are you sure you are someone for my...interest? Don't get me wrong! There is nothing wrong with dating a bartender, but besides some free drinks I have to wonder if there is "anything else" that you would be able to offer me?" Robin asked as he knew just what to ask to make Jamie start giving him what he wanted, as the Lizard bartender was seen having an inner debate with himself before then leaning forward and whispering to her "I do have something else going on then just serving drinks."
"Oh? Do tell." Robin said as he pretended to sound surprised, as Jamie pointed towards the stage and said "I'm working together with that girl up on stage."
Looking over Robin and the rest in the place could see how Dennie C had come to the end of her perfect performance, and the Horse girl did seem pretty pleased with herself.
"Looks like we will have another win on us now." Jamie said just as pleased, as Robin once more pretended to be completely green about all this and asked "What do you mean?"
"You see, me, Dennie, and Sean the audio operator, all work together on this thing. We make sure Dennie wins the contest, and then we all share the cash." Jamie explained very proudly as Robin decided to go full-on "Bimbo" mode, and asked on how they even got to know each other in the first place.
"Dennie and Sean already know each other since they share an apartment together, but when Sean got hired to become the new DJ for the Tavern they asked if I also wanted to become a part of the "deal" they were working on." Jamie explained as Robin once more asked on "What part of the plan" he was put in charge of? (Also making sure to lean in with his chest more, as to be sure the hidden microphone would be able to pick up the sound.)
During this part Jamie actually did a quick look around to be sure that the general audio levels of the place was loud enough for them not to be heard, before then leaning in even closer to Robin and saying "I make sure to serve the other contenders some spiced up drinks, so that they are completely wasted once they are about to go up on stage."
"No way!" Robin said in what was probably his one moment of really bad acting of sounding shocked and surprised, but luckily Jamie was at this point so smitten by the Deer "girl" sitting in front of him that he didn't notice it.
"Yeah. It's not the most honorable thing I have ever done, but you better believe this whole operation has managed to bring in some dough." Jamie told Robin, who pretended to play interested as he asked "How much are we talking about here?"
"Well, it is 1,000$ per win, and since we have been doing this for about 3-4 months now you can probably imagine that it is a pretty hefty sum we have managed to win ourselves." Jamie said as Robin decided to go full-on with this act, and ask if Jamie wished to "Do something together" with him now.
"So I'm looking "good enough" in your eyes now, don't I?" Jamie asked pretty smugly as he decided that while the contest was going on he and Robin could have themselves a "Private Moment" just behind the bar.
Inviting the beautiful "Woman" he had just met with him off-screen Jamie made sure to first put up a sign that read, "Taking a Break. Be back soon."
Right after that it was Amber's turn to go up, and unfortunately for her, those ill feelings from before had only got worse as she could feel her legs wobbling with every single step she took onto that stage.
From in the audience crowd Honey could be seen trying to get close to the control panel that Sean was working at, without making it obvious that she was going to try and plug in the other half of the wireless microphone.
Looking upon the stage Honey felt pretty bad seeing Amber in such a state, as she could only wish for the Bunny girl to "keep it together" as hopefully she and Robin would soon be able to reveal the truth of this whole thing.
"B-Befoere stariting I...I mush saiy I haeve ALWAYS wanetd to preform for yuo, Mangus!" Amber slurred on stage, making the old rock icon look a little bit uncomfortable as the music was about to start.
To call what Amber did then for a train wreck would be putting it SUPER mildly, since it was even worse than that!
Thanks to that special drink Amber could barely stand still as she toppled from one side of the stage to another, and between almost painful high pitched screams and sudden nasty burps, it was pretty hard to even make out what the lyrics for it all were.
Even worse was when Sean subtly had the audio crash some parts, making it just as unpredictable and bad as Amber herself was being on stage.
Finally, it all came an end when Amber tried to strike a cool pose on her knees, only to then feel how she got seriously ill and bent over to puke right down in front of the stage!
Having the sudden puke wave hitting the once closest to the stage the whole crowd tried to back up at once, causing some minor chaos to take place.
And during that whole chaos part Sean was seen leaving his controls to help cleaning, giving Honey the moment she needed to get over there and plug in her mic piece.
CLICK!
"I really hope my timing on this is right now." Honey said to herself as she then pressed the play button, and suddenly everyone inside could hear from the speakers...
Inside the bar's storage room Jamie had started to get really hands-on all over Robin, as the Deer "lady" insisted on not letting him go so far as to strip him while they make out. (Over the fear that it would cause the bartending lizard to find out about the microphone.)
Not knowing if Honey had managed to get the mic set up or not yet Robin took his chances as he said to Jamie, "I'm sorry for asking this again, but how did you say this whole thing worked again?" who really sounded tired now of having to explain the whole thing over and over again to his "date".
"I know you're a bit dumb, but how hard is it for you to remember this?! We have this plan of Sean rigging the sound so it will fail for the other contenders, and me tripping them up at the bar to be sure that nothing will stop Dennie C from winning it every time!" The Lizard ranted on loud and clear almost directly into the hidden microphone, making both Sean and Dennie gulp hard over suddenly having their whole plan just blurted out in the open like that!
It didn't take long for all the other patrons of the bar to round-up around the two, as some even went behind the bar to find Jamie and Robin just about to "Do something" with their lips.
"W-What's going on?" Jamie asked confused and slightly nervous as Robin decided to drop the act and tell him "I think I have played my part now, so you can have this one back." before then pulling out the wireless microphone out from his cleavage and putting it into the Lizard's hands.
"Just be careful. It is on, so whatever you say will be heard." Robin said as he gave a playful wink to the stunned Jamie, who just didn't know at first what to say before then blurting out "Wait! Was I this close to making out with a DUDE?!", as he once again let the rest of the folks at the tavern know about that little incident of his.
Someone else that was feeling the heat now was Magnus Owl, who not only severing as judge but also being co-owner of the place knew that his whole reputation was in jeopardy, as he quickly took the stage to let everyone know that "There will be consequences to the ones that have been cheating on this whole thing!" and that, "I will make sure the one winning tonight is the most worthy performer of them all!"
Later on that evening it was all over, and despite Dennie C's disqualification, it was really nothing that could be done to fix what had already happened to Amber's act, as the Bunny girl had to find herself utterly humiliated and a loser at the end of the day.
Sitting at the bar again (This time holding a big bucket in her arms, in case another "episode" happens) Amber was feeling sick in more than one way about the whole thing, as Robin and Honey did their best to try and cheer the girl up.
"I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to win that prize money, but maybe I can offer you a free drink?" Honey suggested, before then getting a small death stare from Amber over how that was probably the worst thing she could offer her at the moment.
For Robin, he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty over the whole thing, since he just wished he could have revealed their evil plot before the humiliation of Amber had happened. (But even so, he had to admit that it was pretty fun playing with that jerk Jamie's feelings, and actually for a short time having a guy that was being all over in love with him.)
That's when suddenly they all saw how Magnus came walking up to them, as he wanted to personally thank Robin and Honey for how they had helped to figure out the truth behind the rigged contests.
"Are you doing well also?" Magnus then asked Amber, who while looking ready to puke again said to him "I'm...I'm a feeling a bit better." as that throw up had helped clear her head a bit, even if she now felt like she was having a "day after". (Which was pretty bad, given how it was still only 11 in the evening currently.)
"I'm so sorry that those horrible people drugged you before then having you make such a complete fool out of yourself on that stage." Magnus said as he seemed genuinely sorry for Amber's sake, as he then asked her if there was anything he could do to try and compromise what had happened to her?
"Well, I really wish I would have won that money, since then I could have bought myself a new oven that I REALLY need!" Amber said as Magnus quick as a second pulled out and wrote a check that was also worth 1,000 dollars, and handed it over to her!
"F-For real?!" Amber asked in shock as Magnus smiled and said, "It is the least I can do after what you had to go through." before then having to leave as he needed to have an emergency meeting with the other owners of the tavern.
Feeling like there wasn't much else that could top what had just happened the three Maid workers decided to call it an evening, and together take Honey's car back home.
During the drive home Honey told the others about how she heard Sean and Jamie had both been immediately fired as a result from their little scheme, and that they would also most likely be forced to (along with Dennie C) pay back all the money that they had been tricking to win for themselves.
"Serves them right!" Amber said very pissed off and angry, which she had all the right to be after what a pathetic looking wreck they ended up making her look on that stage. "After such a disaster of a performance I'm not sure when I will be willing to try making an audition again!"
While not as what Amber had been doing in public Robin could now call it the second time he had been tricking a guy into starting to play with his body, thinking he was actually a girl instead of a guy. (But at least luckily Jamie never went so far as to stick his hands into his panties, before Robin revealed his bluff to him.)
During all of this Robin and Honey continued on talking about all other little details about what they had each done during the plan, while it remained pretty silent in the backseat, as Amber still couldn't believe she was holding an actual 1,000 dollar check, written by Magnus Owl himself in her hands!
The first thing that was on her mind was to later finally buy that oven, and then waiting to see the looks onto Christine's face when she comes back from her latest shift at work.
But most of all she knew that with her now being able to get that oven of hers she would be one step closer to learn how to bake the perfect chocolate dessert, and once that was mastered she would have just what it would take in order to finally make Robin HERS for all eternally!

In this part Amber has her big chance at making the big cash by competing in a local singing contest, but Robin & Honey both suspect foul play, and comes with her to find out the truth!
