Ill be trying again tonight I think. The other big thing is this looks more like power armor, I need it to look more mechanical, yet something that could replace a ligiment such as an arm or leg. Also flame thrower? Yeah flamethrower.
Also lightings easy. Start with a dark color. Dont add any details or nothing. Pic an interim color and use it for the highlighted areas or where energy is moving. Use the rub/ blur tool. Next use an almost white of the same color, speckle it in the highest raised or most energetic locations, and again use the rub/ blur tool. Really easy.

lol sounds easier said than done XD
theres always one flaw ive found with artists trying to make steampunk limbs and that...some dont make it 3-d if ya get my drift...they dont add in the fact youd be able to see past the pipes, sockets, etc...like the background..dunno if that makes sense, but its irked me with some artists...

Ive always had a sweet spot for grasping claw hands. Probobly from play Warhammer 40k. I love the idea of a hand being able to spin 360 degrees. Grab, spin, tear. So sexy!
