At first, I was going to go with Delta the raptor, but changed my mind after being reminded that Spades was a thing, and he was much fatter, fitting the theme a lot more... I would have had all three in the picture, but having two of them be depressed was kind of redundant, and there was too much blue in the picture as well.
Of course, the original idea was just "Delta after his first day at work, and not feeling like he did a good job" but then I had the idea used in the final, and switched it... All that really meant was a different set of dialog.
